Phase 1: Prep and Purge the Space
Our first step is to declutter the space. We work alongside you as we sort items into categories: Keep, Donate, Toss, and Re-home.
The Keep items are then categorized according to their specific functions, and we help you find better storage areas for the Re-home items that belong in other areas of the house.
Before we hit the next phase, this is a great time for you to give the garage a deep clean—and the results are so satisfying! You may choose to paint the walls and floor between our sessions, or even add insulation.
Phase 2: Plan & Install Your Systems
Now that the garage is emptied out and tidied up, we help you plan and set up systems to make each zone work for you. Whether it’s gardening tools, sports and outdoor equipment, automotive repair, or back stock, we create an effortless system that has a place for everything.
Storing items in a garage usually benefits from maximizing your vertical space, and we can help you choose racks and shelving units that fit best in your space.
We also recommend using clear, labeled plastic bins for storage. They keep your garage looking neat, protect your items, and are easy to locate.
Phase 3: Organize and Maintain
It’s the final stretch! Now that the declutter and sort phases are complete, placing items back in their designated spots is a breeze! We store them in zones that make sense to you, with ease of access dependent on how often they’re in use.
We then go through your garage using our handy-dandy label maker to make identification easy for any of your shelves, bins and containers.
As you enjoy your newly organized garage, we are available to help you maintain your space at regular intervals going forward, or even help shift things around as you find out what works best for your lifestyle.
Bonus Level:
Let’s get creative with your storage solutions! Pegboards, magnetic strips, wall-mounted bike racks, or even a drop-down workbench are all great ways to keep your stuff off the ground and your garage looking amazing.
Keep one (and only one!) miscellaneous bin to toss in new items that don’t have a place yet. Commit to sorting it out whenever it becomes full. Do the same with a donation box, and then schedule a pickup or drop-off as soon as you fill it.
